ABOUT MARTHA GARCIA
Martha Garcia is a lifelong public servant, rancher, and dedicated community leader with more than 50 years of experience serving Cibola County and the Ramah Navajo community. A Navajo woman from Pine Hill, she proudly represents New Mexico House District 6 following her appointment by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham after the passing of Representative Eliseo Lee Alcon.
Martha previously served as a Cibola County Commissioner (2016–2025), where she strengthened fiscal accountability, improved essential services, and helped guide the county through financial challenges. Throughout her career, Martha has worked across tribal, county, state, and national levels to secure resources, improve infrastructure, and deliver results for rural and tribal communities.
She lives on a working ranch with her husband, Roy Garcia, where they raise livestock and care for animals—shaping her deep commitment to stewardship, agriculture, and rural values. A mother of five and grandmother, Martha remains focused on strengthening healthcare access, improving education, investing in infrastructure, and expanding economic opportunity for families across District 6.
